Position Overview
The Account Manager will be responsible for using their knowledge of the battery industry to understand, develop, and execute sales to IT server, data center UPS, telecom, and other target customers. The individual must have a proven track record of closing sales to target customers, and be able to put together the sales project approach including internal resources and external partners to bring a deal to fruition. This role includes responsibility for building customer relationships within targeted market segments, maintaining these relationships, and working with the team to create visibility at all appropriate levels. Position will also play a critical role in bringing customer needs into the product evolution plans of the company as well as support and develop new/ additional segments of the business.
Primary Responsibilities
* Execute sales plan to penetrate target markets.
* Penetrate targeted accounts at all appropriate levels and establish relationships with key decision makers; build long-term relations for large-scale project sales.
* Support annual, quarterly and monthly sales forecasting, pipeline and RFP activities.
* Identify and develop new business within the assigned territory
* Focus on new customer additions within the territory
* Travel throughout assigned territory for relationship building and maintenance with all customers in the region
* Develop and create quotes for bids to customers
* Ensure customer satisfaction at all times via constant communication with customers
* Bring customer requirements to Product Management to support future product/service offering planning.
Specific Skills/Abilities
* Must have proven sales bid to close ratios
Education/Experience
* Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in outside sales in battery industry, prior DC Power sales experience a plus
* Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Engineering, Business or related field
* Must have proven sales bid to close ratios
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong Computer skills Microsoft Office products and Salesforce
* Strong background in customer service and solution selling
* Professional demeanor
* Ability to travel frequently (at least 50% of time)
