    The Director of Family Partnerships will provide leadership to develop family skills and confidence to engage in their children’s education, and support learning at home, using culturally competent practices with linguistically and culturally-diverse families. The Director of Parent & Family Partnerships will also lead professional development with BVSD teachers, administrators, community liaisons and other educators to build their capacity to partner with all families in support of student success. This position will lead the implementation of the priority action parent family partnership in the BVSD strategic plan – The Success Effect.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide leadership to foster family, community and school partnerships that enhance student success and post-secondary workforce readiness
    • Increase families’ understanding of the BVSD student learning goals and how they support their student’s progress towards those goals at home
    • Develop the capacity of BVSD educators to engage with linguistically and culturally-diverse families
    • Develop leadership of culturally and economically-diverse families
    • Identify/implement indicators that assess successful family partnerships for the district and individual schools
    • Assist BVSD departments in making their systems and practices more family-friendly
    • Assist schools with strategies to build relationships and partner with families to support student success
    • Facilitate BVSD Family-School Partnerships Steering Committee
    • Align district parent and family partnerships with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) parent engagement regulations
    • Manage internal and external communication, budgeting and expenditures and other written departmental procedures
    • Coordinate the overall implementation of and ensure CDE compliance
    • Coordinate district Family Partnership Liaisons
    • Serve as district liaison with the Colorado Department of Education
    • Collaborate with SACPIE to provide regional training for district and school accountability committees, educators, families, and community members
    • Identify evidence-based family partnership strategies through the school improvement process
    • Develop partnerships with community organizations and agencies who also support families throughout BVSD’s communities
    • Oversee the BVSD Family Help Line, volunteer background checks and translation services.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in education, community service, parent organizations or comparable activity
    • Experience working with families and diverse needs and backgrounds
    • Experience in providing education, training or professional development to large groups
    • Bilingual and Bi-literate in Spanish
    • Completed BVSD Online Application

    • Master’s Degree
    • Exceptional relationship-building skills with a diverse array of stakeholders
    • Quick learner of new technologies and track record of improving work flow process using technology tools
    • Strong analytical, planning, organization, and motivation skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external audiences
    • Demonstrated skills in facilitation, problem solving, building relationships, and conflict management

    Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the post-offer screening process, including a background check.

    SALARY: Range 9: $76,530 - $114,794 (2017-18 salary schedule - based on experience); excellent benefit package. Website: www.bvsd.org/benefits.
