The Office of the Director (OOD) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Opioid Health Program Manager III. The Opioid Health Program Manager III will be responsible for assisting the Chief Medical Officer and the Clinical Initiatives Project Manager with planning, implementing, and evaluating the goals, objectives and action items of the AHCCCS initiative to address the opioid epidemic. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


* Administering, organizing, planning, implementing and monitoring programs and projects related to the AHCCCS Opioid Initiative.


* Maintains knowledge of current research, trends, evidence-based treatment and State and Federal regulations related to Opioid Use Disorder in order to act as a subject matter expert on opioid misuse, abuse and dependence.


* Participates in policy development and revision as a subject matter expert on opioid prescribing. Opioid Use Disorder and treatment modalities.


* Assists with identifying and addressing barriers to care and conducting qualify investigations on prescribing practices and access to Opioid Use Disorder Treatment.



* Current knowledge of the opioid epidemic, evidence-based practice and the scientific research for opioid prescribing.


* Knowledge of Opioid Use Disorder treatment, recovery supports, and prevention.


* Analytical and comprehensive skills to interpret data and research, federal and state statutes, policy, rules, and regulations.


* Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.


* Proficient in strategic planning, work plan development, needs assessments and basic evaluation methodology.


* Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and as a member of a dynamic team.


* Ability to motivate groups of individuals to work cooperatively.



* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or closely related field.


* Minimum of three years of experience working in either clinical or regulatory positions related to Substance Use Disorder treatment.


* Individuals with experience implementing public health or multi-systematic initiatives preferred.
