Job Summary:
This individual willlead multi-disciplinary project teams in new product development programs withintegration of advanced technology across company functional teams and ongoingproduction programs with integration of integrated supply chain and otherfunctional groups.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for management of assigned programs, including development of new business opportunities and achievement of profitability goals on contracted work
  • Acts as a cross-functional matrix based team leader for engineering, research, systems integration, marketing, manufacturing, quality, test, procurement and subcontract management
  • Ensures that all required resources such as personnel and equipment, computer time, facilities, etc. are available to support assigned programs
  • Plans, directs and monitors program budget, and serves as primary customer contact for program information and documentation requirements
  • Responsible for financial performance in profitability and investment; establishes managerial, technical and directive means to fulfill contract requirements
  • Responsible for compliance with legal, contractual and company operational procedures to fulfill contract terms
  • Assists in development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Program Plan/WBS Dictionary, task flow plan and master schedule for assigned programs
  • Manages program performance through control and reporting methodology, team meetings, design reviews, hardware reviews, consultant reviews, direct observation and written reports as defined by internal management and the customer
  • Manages program risk using standardized procedures and tools to minimize program technical, schedule and budgetary issues; generates and delivers program, marketing and technical presentations, both internally and externally
  • Perform other duties may be assigned.

Job Qualifications (Education/Skills/Experience):

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering preferred or Chemical Engineering or Physics with applicable experience. Other Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and three (3) years of related experience, or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Outlook, and Visio.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work only under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives

Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignments

General knowledge of other related disciplines

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

Ability to write simple, but accurate correspondence

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the NEIH organization

Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and contractual instructions in various forms and deal with several abstract and concrete concepts

Must be skilled in the use of standard MS Office products, including MS Project.

Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects

Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations

Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications

Prime spokesperson on company’s business\technical capabilities and future directions; instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business
