As a project manager you will be a part of the PMO and will be responsible for leading end-to-end project management activities for key strategic organizational projects and quality assurance coordination. The selected candidate will:
Work on multiple small projects of a moderately complex nature or on a single work stream of a large complex project
Establishing an overall end-to-end testing approach across multiple projects
Contribute to the development of new Project Management practices and processes used throughout the organization
Work with key business and IT stakeholders to develop a project management plan including identifying the business needs, project goals, objectives, project approach, project staffing, project roles and responsibilities and project budget.
Develop, manage and deliver project communications to various levels of the organization
Develop and manage the project schedule and determine impacts to the schedule based on scope, resource or other project changes
Manage the financial aspects of the project which may include developing a TCO or CBA model
Work with business and IT to acquire and manage project resources
The successful candidate will possess:
Strong leadership skills working with teams to create a project team atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation and mentoring staff
Strong business knowledge of various functional areas such as Sales, Operations, Finance and Compliance in various industries
Experience with managing vendors in developing master services agreements and statements of work and managing the vendor budget
Experience working with virtual project teams over multiple time zones and cultures
Managing a broad range of project types such as business process improvement, vendor selection, package design and implementation, custom development, design and implementation, data migrations, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
Solid relationship building skills with all levels of an organization
Skills / Requirements
BA/BS degree in a related field and/or equivalent education and experience.
At least 7 years of project management experience
3+ years of managing testing initiatives
Insurance, financial services, operations or consulting experience is preferred
Extensive experience with MS Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Certification or in process of Certification for Project Management is preferred and previous experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) is a plus.
