Job Description

Senior Data Management Specialist - CDC, Atlanta, GA




The purpose of this contract is to provide professional, technical, scientific, epidemiological and public health support. Services will primarily be performed domestically. The Sr. Data Management Specialist will provide a ready resource to provide data analytics and support in the following areas: public health, administrative, financial, scientific, medical and project management. These areas of support are often needed as a result of internal decisions and external directives producing short deadlines for implementation.


JOB DUTIES  (ref PWS Task 3)


  1. Manage epidemiological and laboratory data by using SAS and as well as other data management software packages (e.g. R, REDCap, Microsoft Access, Excel, EpiInfo);
  2. Support the design, development, and implementation of surveillance tools to collect epidemiologic data;



  • High level of organization
  • Ability to anticipate needs and identify work to be done independently.
  • 5-8 Years of Experience with Degree in Math or Statistics
  • Experience with Statistical Applications Software (SAS/SPSS et al (e.g. R, REDCap, Microsoft Access, Excel, EpiInfo);
  • Experience developing original and unique data collection and presentation methods in the epidemiologic field
  • Experience with large data management, mining, business intelligence, and dashboarding
  • Provide analytical support to the entire workgroup, federal, contract, and non-federal civilians.
