The Director of Development and Corporate Partnerships is responsible for managing professional staff and volunteers to meet or exceed Chapter revenue goals by implementing Walk to End Alzheimer’s events, The Longest Day program, RivALZ events and the Chapter’s Gala event. Also responsible for third party events and corporate campaigns (point of sale). The role leads the Chapter in soliciting new corporate partnerships and stewarding current corporate partners.
The Director of Development and Corporate Partnerships reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the Chapter’s Leadership Team. The role is based in Omaha.
- Achieve designated goals (revenue, teams, sponsorship) for Walk to End Alzheimer’s, The Longest Day event, RivALZ and Gala.
- Design and execute plan for maximizing team participation in peer-to-peer events named above to achieve revenue goals by retaining existing teams, attracting new ones from all sectors of the community and by providing fundraising guidance and support.
- Solicit corporate and community partnerships to grow sponsorship revenue and volunteer engagement for all peer-to-peer and ticketed (Gala) events.
- Build relationships with key volunteers, participants, sponsors and community leaders.
- Overall responsibility for the Development Department’s volunteer committee objectives, team recruitment and retention strategies, budget, timeline, promotion, logistics and best practice implementation.
- Maintain year-round relationships with key corporate sponsors.
- Serve as lead staff member for the Chapter’s Gala by recruiting and managing volunteer committee, developing corporate sponsors and executing the event to the high standards of a ticketed event.
- Build and manage Development Department’s budget.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Supervisory experience with professional staff and volunteers.
- Five to eight years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated success leading high performing teams of staff and volunteers to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
- Demonstrated leadership in the planning and implementation of fundraising strategies including, but not limited to, peer-to-peer events, corporate sponsorship and ticketed events (Galas).
- Demonstrated success in growing external corporate partnerships with a particular focus in the Lincoln and Omaha markets.
- Demonstrated involvement in corporate networking across major markets.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
- Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter able to work independently.
- Ability to effectively manage remote employees and volunteers.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within assigned territory by car. Travel is considered time spent away from the office and in communities to fulfill strategic plan goals. While most such travel is same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required.
- Ability to bend, stoop, left and transport up to 25 pounds of materials.
- Must have valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
