The Group Sales Lead is responsible for delivering the group sales plan for Arizona Science Center, including school field trips, corporate and community groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accountable for delivering the monthly and annual group sales plan, including school field trips, corporate and community groups. Adept at inspiring the team and holding them accountable.
- Uses strong command of the Science Center’s attractions, including planetarium, giant screen theater, traveling exhibition and SkyCycle, to maximize revenue per visit.
- Delivers exceptional customer service in person and via phone throughout the sales process from initial contact to order confirmation through visit.
- Partners with Guest Sales and Service to oversee the field trips and other group visits, from arrival to departure. Oversees buses, processes tickets and secures feedback post visit. Operates as a hands-on leader, working side-by-side with the team.
- Partners with Marketing team to execute email and direct mail to support sales.
- Coordinates scheduling with all affected departments and relays information cross-departmentally.
- Ensures groups are invoiced in a timely basis and payments are entered properly.
Directly supervises a team of Group Sales Associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An Associates level (A.A.) degree and minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must have a technical aptitude with reporting, previous spreadsheet and software usage.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. This job also requires the use of a computer which will be placed somewhere in the employee's workspace. The employee must have the necessary keyboard and computer mouse skills as well as the ability to read a color monitor.
