The Early Connections Assistant Supervisor provides direct supervision of children in a developmentally appropriate, play based child care program program while following Colorado Dept. of Human Services Child Care Center Rules and Regulations. The ideal candidate will be warm, loving, and enthusiastic about the positive impact they can have on a child's life.The Assistant Supervisor will work under the Childcare Specialist and the Supervisor in the room. This role assists in implementing the daily plans and care for the children.
-Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate, play based program
-Engage students in enrichment topics based on student interest
-Safely and effectively manage the learning environment
-Assist in maintaining compliance with licensing guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Human Services, local County Health Department and School District policies and procedures.
-Participate in trainings, workshops, in-services, professional learning community meetings for ongoing learning
-Maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical behavior and professionalism
-Create positive working relationships with school personnel, parents, and community.
-Utilize computer and software applications for daily classroom operations
-Perform other duties as assigned.
-Must meet or exceed the education and experience requirements for Early Childhood Teacher as established by the Colorado Department of Human Services (Rule 7.702.44A as of 1/17/19) Review the qualifications to determine how you qualify for this position as there are several ways to qualify. -General knowledge in Early Childhood Education and best practices including children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development as well as children with special needs
-Knowledge and skill in classroom management tools, including supporting children with special needs
-Ability to communicate orally and written, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
-General knowledge of State of Colorado Child Care Licensing rules and regulations and county health department guidelines
-Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
-Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds, diaper, feed; complete other delegated nursing and health care duties for infants and toddlers.
-Technology and computer proficiency in multiple software applications–(Google)
-1-3 years experience in an Early Childhood setting
-6 months - 1 year experience in a licensed childcare program
-Current CPR/First Aid Certification
