    Responsible for directing the delivery of professional respiratory care services through therapy staff and therapy support staff. Exercises considerable independent judgment to adapt and apply clinical and department guidelines to specific situations. Responsible for resource management and budgetary planning; staff selection, training and retention; identifying, implementing and evaluating quality improvement initiatives; and maintaining patient, family and stakeholder satisfaction. Supports the organization vision and mission and practices performance improvement techniques to assure the delivery of the most effective patient care. May oversee other services/departments to support operational requirements.

    What You Bring/Job Requirements

    In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

    Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program, i.e. CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP Bachelor’s degree preferred
    Three years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting

    One year of leadership experience, preferred

    Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance

    Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred
    Current credential of RRT by N.B.R.C

    Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment

    Current BLS certification from American Heart Association

    Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP, preferred

    Specialty certification/credential preferred, i.e., NPS, ACCS, COPD Educator, Asthma Educator, etc

    Ability to be emergency back-up for clinical staff; previous leadership position preferred

    Schedule: Variable – is responsible for three services (pulmonary, sleep and EEG) which operate 7 days per week and both during day and evening/night shift.

    Physical Requirements:

    Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
