Water Services Security Supervisor

ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position is responsible for security management programs in the Water Services Department. Duties include developing and maintaining an integrated security program for all departmental facilities including emergency plans, evacuation plans, and Standard Operating Procedures for emergencies; providing staff and employee security training; providing training with emergency plans and procedures for emergencies in conjunction with Federal Homeland Security terrorism planning and implementation (including facility risk and vulnerability assessment); serving as department liaison with contract security service providers; coordinating with City police, fire, law enforcement agencies, intelligence community (at local, state, and federal levels) and department engineers for security design and enhancement of facilities, operations, and infrastructure; monitoring budget for security contracts; supervising and managing Municipal Security Guards and other assigned staff; and being proficient with all proprietary badging and IP camera hardware and software. Currently there is one vacancy in the Water Services Department.
This recruitment may be used by any department for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.

$51,813 - $77,334 annually. Candidates may be hired above the minimum depending upon qualifications.

Three years of experience overseeing the physical security services of a large organization, including at least one year in a full time supervisory capacity.
The Water Services Department is a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation, therefore, working evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Some positions in this classification require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record.
Will be required to wear a uniform.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - The job requirements listed above, plus:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Management or Security Related field.
Experience overseeing, developing, and maintaining security management programs for public facilities.
Experience in curriculum development and training experience with emergency plans and procedures for emergencies.
Extensive experience in Windows based operating systems, including Windows Office.
Experience working for a municipality in a supervisory capacity and experience with utility-related security or implementing homeland security measures.
