Job Description
The Transportation Asset Utilization position is responsible for the purchase, management, and maintenance of all transportation equipment across six private fleet transportation operations within the CVS distribution network. The position manages $200m in transportation assets. This new position will determine asset requirements, and design asset and maintenance tracking, asset reporting, and all related policies and procedures. The position will also drive fleet safety and innovation.

Support Supply Chain teams with the management, procurement, maintenance of all key transportation assets.

Oversight over $200M in transportation assets (800 tractors, 2,500 trailers), annual capital spend of $8m, and management of a $10m annual expense budget.

Identify, analyze and monitor cost optimization and process improvement opportunities related to private fleet assets.

Development and maintenance of standardized KPI reporting, invoice auditing, and repair and maintenance reporting.

Partner with DOT Safety and other Transportation leadership to improve Fleet safety and drive innovation.

Required Qualifications
8 - 10 years of experience in transportation and fleet management.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work with and influence Distribution Center and Transportation Leadership in all areas of Fleet management.
- Serve as subject matter expert in Maintenance shop administration and management.
- Establish administrative functions including audit of repair invoices, repairs and maintenance tracking, controls/oversight over all expense and capital expenditures.
- Champion clean, safe and compliant working conditions for facilities and equipment.
- Meet proactively with outsourced repairs and maintenance suppliers.
- Manage the budget and forecasting of transportation equipment lease/rent and maintenance lines.
- Develop RFIs & RFPs for external suppliers related to maintenance and repairs.
- Supplier negotiation skills to acquire best possible rates and service metrics for vendors of choice to minimize outside repair labor costs while meeting service requirements.
- Oversee and monitor outside supplier quality and completeness of work.
- Must be familiar with heavy truck / trailer repair and maintenance, DOT rules and regulations.
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
-Identify suppliers of choice for parts and supplies inventory purchasing in proximity to all maintenance facilities and oversee use of preferred vendors for maximum cost savings opportunity.
- Maximize the fleet’s ability to operate at most economical MPG and monitor fleet performance of such
- Track and perform corrective measures to ensure fleet performance goals related to fuel consumption is achieved
- Execute capital expenditures timely from procurement through registration
- Experience with refrigerated cargo units a plus

Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
