In this role, the SVP, CFO CVS Caremark will lead the finance team supporting our pharmacy benefits management segment, including CVS Caremark, Coram and CVS Specialty. Support CVS's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals by managing and driving business actions and financial goals across the segment and the enterprise.
* Lead the finance team supporting our pharmacy benefits management segment, including CVS Caremark, Coram and CVS Specialty.
* Partner with senior management to analyze and support full P&L responsibility.
* Identify emerging product/market trend vulnerabilities and opportunities through analysis and insight generation; develop and implement action plans for business growth.
* Manage development and monitor implementation of major business unit action plans to seize competitive opportunities and/or respond to performance shortfalls/plan variances.
* Develop business unit financial plans and forecasting tools/processes.
* Utilize financial analysis to recommend strategic and business initiatives.
* Drive the dissemination and collection of input/output data, critical assumption and management reporting requirements.
* Improve processes and set infrastructure to measure, understand and monitor business unit results relative to action plans and milestones.
* Partner with other financial disciplines to assure pricing, product and risk alignment with business unit financial performance targets.
* Align resources with shared services to drive business unit focus. Provide project management support for critical action plans other initiatives that cut across business unit and/or CVS.
* Monitor and evaluate risk and delegation arrangements; recommend appropriate financial protections.
* Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place for shared services and business unit.
* Develop high performing financial unit that performs a function and/or can assist in the financial and business issues support being provided to the business.

Required Qualifications
* 20+ years related financial management experience including strategic and business planning, accounting and financial analysis.
* Extensive experience in healthcare (specifically in PBM or pharmacy), managed care insurance or financial services.
* Experience supporting a P&L and developing innovative short- and long-term financial strategies for driving growth.
* Ability to communicate a vision and instill associates with a sense of shared purpose.
* Sensitivity to market issues
* Strong financial, analytical and cost control skills.
* Leadership and management skills necessary to work effectively within a system, influence results, motivate individuals and teams, and resolve problems in a diplomatic professional manner.
* Excellent oral and written communication, persuasion, negotiation and presentation skills. The incumbent must be able to clearly articulate factual and advisory information to all levels of staff, executives, the boards of directors, and others, and garner related support.
* Willingness to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced degree in business and CPA preferred.

* Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or similar disciplines
