The Management Information System Specialist is responsible for maintaining and inputting participant data on
all clients enrolled in Training Programs and is responsible for accurate funding requirements of the Employment
and Training Department.

o Responsible for safekeeping and con?dentiality of all enrollment ?les and participant information.
0 Maintain an organized ?ling system; monitor ?les monthly to ensure proper paperwork is ?led in accordance
to funding regulations.
0 Review participant eligibility, ?le status and necessary contracts and paperwork before enrollment; assist in
conducting eligibility interviews as needed.
0 Use State MIS System to update participant’s ?les and provide accurate monthly and quarterly reports.
0 Serve as receptionist (answer phones and sort mail) when staff is absent or as needed.Track training hours and support services throughout program; assist with submitting participant payroll;follow up with staff and participants regularly to ensure paperwork is submitted in a timely basis.Attend and participate in staff meetings; weekly staf?ng and trainings set up by the department.Schedule program services and appointment for participants.Track NEW appointment letters to be issued within program speci?ed timeframes.Assist with Apticom (testing) weekly assessments.Develop and maintain department procedures manual.Report problems with staff paperwork to supervisor.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:o Considerable knowledge in data processing; ability to use query functions.
0 Knowledge in operation of computer terminals and printers.
0 Knowledge of general clerical and of?ce procedures and practices including coding indexing and ?ling.Ability and willingness to learn the State MIS System, DOS, Microsoft Word, Excel and Date Flex software.
Ability to maintain con?dentiality.Ability to speak and write effectively.Ability to analyze statistical data in order to prepare accurate and timely records and reports for federal
funding agencies.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Ability to oversee staff paper work and ensure accurate and timely completion.Ability to maintain a positive relationship with staff, participants and outside agencies.Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel for training.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the general public.
0 Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position, agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years experience in MIS, computer and/or file
management. Associate degree from an accredited college or university in data processing or business preferred.

Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit. Valid state driver’s license with a current proof of driving record for
the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must be
submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
application.Required to pass a background check.Non -Supervisory, Hourly Position
