Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Accounts Payable Manager is to provide accounting support through overseeing Accounts Payable process as well as working closely with the Directors of Property Accounting, Corporate Controller and hotel accounting teams on related key projects and organizational initiatives.

Work Performed:

The Accounts Payable Manager will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:


    - Plan, organiz e , and manag e the day-to-day operations and activities of a centralized accounts payable function including authorizing payments for assigned hotels;
    - Responsible for the month-end and year-end global A ccounts Payable close process , post ing accrual entries as needed , and provid ing monthly/quarterly reporting to ensure accurate accounting ;
    - Oversee all payment functions to include check processing, virtual payment cards, purchasing cards, ACHs and Positive Pay ;
    - Oversee global invoice and accrual uploads ;
    - Supervis e the A ccounts P ayable Specialists and support the field accounting team and 3rd party processing team ;
    - Develop , implement , and maintain A ccounts P ayable policies, procedures, best practices, propos ing process improvements ;
    - Provide ongoing training to the A ccounts P ayable team, which includes the field accounting team and 3rd party processing team ;
    - Responsible for the 1099 reporting and filing process ;
    - Ensur e compliance with federal and state regulations governing payment to vendors including companies or consultants ;
    - Oversee purchase order , expense management and vendor maintenance systems ;
    - Manage direct reports by ensuring Associates understand and comply with employment practices, recommending employment decisions and corrective action, supporting performance management, and implementing discipline ; and
    - Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.


Qualifications:

Required Prior Experience:

5+ years of related experience

3 + years of supervisory experience

Multi-property Accounts Payable processing responsibility

Multi-state experience with Account Payable processing for similar size organization

Preferred Prior Experience:

Hospitality industry experience

Required Education:

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience

Required Technology:

Intermediate experience in Microsoft office products to include Microsoft Excel

Preferred Technology:

Sage300, Concur, Birchstreet

Workday

Physical:

8+ hours at a desk/computer

Other:

Verbal communication and writing skills
