As the leader of the Housekeeping department, the ideal candidate will directly oversee the housekeeping, laundry, and public areas of the hotel. S/He should be a skilled communicator (verbal and written) and understand the importance of teamwork: It is expected that great relationships with the Front Desk and Engineering (Maintenance) departments will be maintained. Additionally, s/he should possess strong organizational skills, an obsessive attention to details, and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

The day-to-day*
* Accurately forecast expenses;
* Help to develop management talent by acting as a mentor to direct reports;
* Analyze financial and operating information on an ongoing basis in order to adjust labor, supplies, materials, and other costs to satisfy budgetary guidelines;
* Maintain inventory of guestroom and housekeeping par levels;
* Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and leadership;
* Maintain physical product standards by routinely inspecting rooms, public areas, and laundry facilities to ensure proper working conditions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Prior experience leading the housekeeping function of a full-service hotel. At minimum, an associate's degree is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism. Fluency in other language would be a benefit.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
