This historic hotel is at the forefront of revitalizing downtown Danville. Our newly redeveloped fully furnished 47 room boutique hotel, located in the Danville, VA, is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing full-time General Manager, who works independently, but under the overall direction of our Management Company. This unique position works from the onsite office and is the first in-person contact, greeting our guests and providing assistance during their stay, while also taking calls to answer questions about reservations and encourage future bookings. You will be responsible for supervising the cleaning of each room and inspection to ensure it is prepared for the next guest arriving. Supervision of the housekeeping team and front office staff will fall to this position. The position is mainly Monday through Friday with some additional special event weekends.

Ideal candidates must be computer literate and have experience with basic bookkeeping tasks. Flexibility to cover when off regular hours as the "on call" contact. Outside sales of this historic property are also required and will be outlined in the interview process. This position requires a hands-on approach.

If you enjoy working independently while serving customers in person and are able to intuitively anticipate the needs of others to provide a top notch hospitality experience, you'll find this position to be a great balance of customer service and administrative tasks, with the bonus of working with a top notch management company and ownership group. You will wear multiple hats and will need to rise to tasks during busy occasions and be professionally motivated during quieter lulls in the day to promote new sales opportunities of the historic apartments. You can expect to:

    -Smile have fun and be energetic!
    -Answer phone calls and emails in a professional manner and assist guests with any questions.
    -Manage all reservations and amenity requests prior to guest arrivals.
    -Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events.
    -Ensure cleanliness of guest rooms and public spaces at all times.
    -Regularly inspect guest rooms and public areas, making sure they are up to company standards.
    -Maintain an organized inventory of guest supplies and cleaning supplies.
    -Ensure the property is properly stocked and supplies are being regularly ordered according to set budget.
    -Ensure guest feedback and reviews are immediately responded to in a professional manner.
    -Properly onboard all new hires as needed and ensuring completion of company regulated "New Hire" paperwork and training guidelines.
    -Make and monitor staff schedules on a weekly basis.
    -Lead the team by communicating and resolving issues when they arise.
    -Sales - Conduct sales calls and follow-up to individuals and in group sales.
    -Be an active member of the Danville community
    -Ensure guest transactions are being properly completed.
    -Follow set procedures on posting charges, and all daily reports.
    -Maintain room rates and update packages and amenities as needed.
    -Communicate property needs and any correct maintenance needs as outlined by management company.
    -Update the maintenance log and coordinate repairs, ensuring that all issues are fixed in a timely manner.
    -Interact with the management company on a weekly/monthly basis.
    -Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and policies.
    -Report any guest/associate injuries and accidents.
    -Ensure company policies and security requirements are met.
    -Follow company uniform and grooming standards.
