Responsibilities and Qualifications
Clinical Research Manager will coordinate and participate in clinical research studies conducted by principal investigator(s) at Mercy Research. Coordinate and participate in a variety of complex activities involved in the collection, compilation, documentation and analysis of clinical research data. Coordinate, perform, and oversee study specific activities and processes across multiple studies of different therapeutic areas and phases, in accordance with appropriate regulations, hospital policies and procedures, and study specific protocols/plans and processes. Responsible for the supervision of clinical research coordinators within hired core.
To provide oversight and leadership of research financial functions throughout the Ministry. Manages Research Coordinators responsible for contracting, budgeting, invoicing, coding, coverage analysis, business cases and coordination of Research operations. Act as a liaison to finance, legal, sponsor companies, contract research organizations and clinical research sites throughout the Ministry. Assists the Director of Business with implementation of research initiatives and all aspects of research business administration throughout the ministry. Performs all job duties in a manner consistent with FDA, federal billing guidelines, GCP, ICH guidelines and with Mercy’s mission, values and Mercy Service standards. Will be responsible for providing oversight and leadership of the Research Coordinators accountable for recruiting, marketing and data management. Responsible for regular audits of clinical research data the Data Specialist entered in Clinical Trial Management System to ensure information is entered in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for managing the recruitment team to maximize enrollment of subjects into industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. Accountable for supervising the development and distribution of IRB approved advertising and marketing materials in a manner that leverages technology. Ensure all coworkers are working within the sponsor’s timeline while following regulations and rules governing medical ethics, IRB, PHI, GCP and ICH guidelines. Assists the Director of Business with implementation of research initiatives and all aspects of data, recruiting and marketing throughout the ministry to increase revenue.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Licensure: If qualification is based on education resulting in licensure, license must be valid in the state position is to be filled.
- Experience: Three (3) years related experience.
- Certification/Registration:CCRC/CCRP or obtained within 12 months.
Other Skills and Knowledge:
Must be knowledgeable and have an understanding of ICH/GCP guidelines as well as all regulatory and ethical issues governing the structure, functions, and requirements of clinical research. Incumbent needs excellent verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking skills. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and a strong familiarity with electronic medical records. Must be able to prioritize and complete multiple projects independently and efficiently with little supervision. Computer proficiency including word processing, database, spreadsheet and Internet search applications required with excellent customer service and satisfaction skills. History of meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills in all aspects of work. Expected to serve as a resource for other clinical research co-workers. Must show a willingness to mentor and train other staff.
