Job Description

JOB GOAL:

Employee oversees athletic equipment room and issues and maintains team equipment. Work involves initiative and judgment.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  3. Must be able to stand for 3-5 hours during the work day.
  4. Must be able to be outside periodically throughout the work day.
  5. Various “hand-on” duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Overall operation of school’s athletic equipment department.
  2. Pre and post game set up and take down operations.
  3. Oversee athletic laundry operation.
  4. Assigns lockers and issues proper equipment to athletes.
  5. Stores, reconditions, and keeps inventory of athletic equipment.
  6. Receives and checks in new equipment.
  7. Recommends equipment purchases subject to coaches/district approval.
  8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  9. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relations with students, faculty and administration.
  10. Supervises students during a minor portion of the employee’s work time.
  11. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  12. Ability to use various computer programs (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
  13. Ability to drive equipment van/mini bus to away locations.
  14. Other various duties requested by site/district administration
  15. Help with Security at all home games.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee is frequently required to move about the campus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme heat or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  12- Month, Vacation Days: Per policy GCD,
General Leave Days: per policy GCCA

COMPENSATION:  Classified Salary Schedule

BENEFITS:  As per District policy

REPORTS TO:  Principal and District Athletic Director

EVALUATION:  Annually by Principal

Hours: 20 hours per week

CLASSIFICATION:  Non-Exempt
