Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the managing and administration of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's employee benefits package which includes insurance benefits such as Health, Dental, Prescription, Vision and Employee Assistant Program; Basic and Voluntary Life, Accident and Long/Short Term Disability plans; 401(k) Plan and Executive Deferred Compensation [Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan-SERP]. The individual manages the planning, development and implementation of all aspects of employee benefits, including insurance claim resolutions; eligibility requirements; enrollment procedures; coverage and other related issues; preparation of requests for proposals (RFP's) for employee benefits and the evaluation and contract negotiation process. The incumbent manages 401(k) program and oversees and ensures ERISA compliance of the plan. The individual collaborates and coordinates with external auditors and vendors in preparing responses to the 401(k) Plan Audit Package and preparation of IRS Form 5500 for the 401(k) as well as the Health & Welfare Plans and related schedules. The incumbent communicates benefits policies and procedures to employees through mail, staff announcements, as well as individual and group orientations. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field is required. A master's degree is preferred. A minimum of six (6) years of experience in planning and implementing an employee benefits program in a large public or private organization including four (4) years of supervisory experience is required. Relevant work experience in 401(K) administration is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Ability to travel to all the Seminole Reservations is required. Lawson experience is highly preferred. Requires excellent organizational skills and ability to plan multiple demanding tasks simultaneously is essential. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
