The incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall leadership, development, organization, management, operation, and implementation of environmental and natural resources projects and programs for the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Environmental Resource Management Department (ERMD); including but not limited to: (1) development and implementation of environmental and natural resource plans; (2) development and implementation of water resources programs; (3) development and implementation of strategic plans; (4) the development and implementation of policies and regulations; (5) government-to-government consultations concerning off and on Reservation Tribal interests; (6) community engagement and outreach; (7) briefing Tribal Leadership on environmental and natural resource issues; (8) development of capital improvement projects; (9) development and implementation of work plans; (10) development and implementation of financial budgets; (11) secure and manage grants; (12) supervise all Department employees; and (13) other environmental and/or natural resources related needs as they arise. The individual provides technical support to other STOF departments; recommends policy and procedural changes; develops and implements work projects and programs; reviews and analyzes plans and proposed development activity in relation to its impact on critical areas and to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Biology, Forestry, Geology, Hydrology or other related field is required. Minimum of seven (7) years of management experience in natural resource conservation, including irrigation and drainage work is required. Prior experience with soil and water resources (in planning and management) is required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and experience will be considered. General knowledge of Legal principles, methods and practices is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and to any other existing and/or prospective business sites and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is a requirement.
