Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the Seminole Tribe of Florida's efforts to develop, implement and incorporate energy reliability, energy efficiency and solar energy generation initiatives in the design of building systems and building automation controls. The individual evaluates energy-related projects or programs to reduce energy costs or improve energy efficiency during the designing, building, or remodeling stages of construction of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's building and facilities. The incumbent monitors utility usage across all Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservations and maintains a database for all energy consumption; develops guidelines and measures for energy savings, reviews and analyzes utility rates to seek reductions and cost savings on a continual basis; continually monitor building automation systems and recommend adjustments for cost savings and develops and implements energy management plans and procedures. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Environmental or Architectural Construction Management o or similar area of specialty is required. State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) registration and certifications as a Professional Energy Manager (PEM) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is preferred / highly desired. A minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in the Construction Management field or building automation is required. Prior experience working on energy efficiency assessments/ energy conservation and implementing solar energy improvement projects, is highly desired. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, understand building automation controls, manage projects and to verbally communicate effectively with outside agencies, is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must have the ability to travel across reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
