The incumbent in this position is responsible for the management, planning and implementation of all aspects of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) related projects fir the Planning Department, including facilitating project teams, identifying resources; establishing project objectives, timelines and milestones and developing standards for GIS deployment and use. The individual oversees and supervises all Planning GIS staff and activities including collecting, storing, updating, manipulating, analyzing, and displaying geographically referenced information. This position liaises with the Information Technology Department to facilitate the integration of GIS technologies for remote collection and dissemination of GIS information and deployment of online access to GIS resources that is restricted to necessary Seminole Tribe of Florida employees and members. Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geomatics, or related field with Geographic Information System (GIS) coursework is required. Certification as Geographic Information System Professional (GISP) is preferred. A minimum of (5) years of GIS experience as GIS Manager, GIS Coordinator, or similar position with professional-level experience in the design, development, implementation and administration of geographic information systems, including analysis and database development and integration is required. Knowledge and understanding of GIS/GPS database and principles, database, cartographic, geographic, statistical and mathematical theory sufficient to perform geographic analyses is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing computer software packages. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
