Located in Homer, AK, South Peninsula Hospital is a CAH hospital with an attached 28-bed nursing home.  It seeks employees with a passion for serving the community through health care, and the desire to live in an active and engaging region full of recreational opportunity and natural splendor.  Homer is a fisherman’s dream location, and is part of the Alaskan “banana belt” experiencing a temperate climate throughout the year. Hikers, fishermen, boaters, and cyclists share the region with expansive views of the Kachemak Bay and surrounding mountains as well as magnificent wildlife.
South Peninsula Hospital has a new and inspiring leadership team with a diverse set of experiences, expertise and backgrounds from around the country. We are looking to add the right Clinical Services Director to our Senior Management Team. This is a unique opportunity to have long-lasting impact at the area’s largest employer and to help lead the organization into its next phase of growth and success.
South Peninsula Hospital is currently accepting resumes for a Director of Clinical Services (DCS). This person will serve as a member of the Senior Management Team and oversee the following areas: Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Rehabilitation Services. They will be part of the leadership team that guides the organization and will provide leadership and direction for operations and future growth. They will coordinate adherence to all policies and procedures in their departments, following established processes and best practices. They will work seeking input from their staff to prepare budgets, financial reports, statistical reports, maintain appropriate staffing, create a safe and productive work environment, and adhere to all compliance requirements.  
  • At least 3 years of experience managing healthcare services in a hospital or health system setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Great computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Evident / CPSI software preferred
  • Bachelors required or equivalent work experience
  • Aptitude in problem solving and excellent organizational skills
