Position Summary:
The System Quality Measures Resource Manager will oversee all operations as it pertains to the collection, submission, validation and other related activities of all Hospital Core Measures to state and national agencies. The System Quality Measure Resource Manager will support the hospitals in ensuring all quality measure reporting requirements are met for state and national agencies. The Quality Measure Resource Manager will serve as a consultant to the hospitals and provide actionable metrics to senior leadership and key stakeholders at the local level.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage operations of the data collection of quality core measures including through 3rd party vendors and internal staff
  • Facilitate feedback of actionable outliers to key hospital stakeholders for performance improvement
  • Coordinate all submissions of core measure-clinical quality data to Medicare, Medicaid, Leapfrog Insurance companies, and other 3rd party agencies as identified by the hospital and/or corporate
  • Collaborate with Hospital Quality Department to ensure all administrative requirements are met for national and state quality data submissions
  • Provide education and oversight to system data abstractors to ensure accuracy in data collection
  • Coordinate validation activities as directed by state and national agencies on core measures
  • Create education materials, presentations on core measures for key hospital stakeholders as applicable
  • Responsible for timely data collection, including timeline development and maintenance, and coordination of activities with requesting internal departments or external requestors.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and external vendors, including individuals who are supervised by others.
  • Provide leadership to other members of the team, including training of individuals on how to interpret data
  • Provide regular updates on actionable quality metrics to Senior Leadership and Key Stakeholders at the Hospital Level;
  • Act as a consultant for the hospitals, providing high level support-best practices on quality metrics;
  • Assist with other quality activities as directed by the Director, Clinical Quality Analytics

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to interpret clinical information and perform objective review of medical record
  • Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of processes and systems to develop and deliver necessary education/ training to departmental staff and internal customers
  • Ability to present ideas and information concisely, in a visually appealing, and statistically meaningful way to varied audiences
  • Maintain regular attendance based on agreed-upon schedule, yet be flexible enough to work off-hours to meet deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work and team relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers in a deadline drive, multi-tasked environment
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent problem solver
  • Proficiency in and presenting information, including expertise with MS Excel, MS Powepoint


I. Education: BSN preferred

II. Experience: Health Care Data Industry experience required, 5-7 years of core measure data abstraction experience

III. Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse

IV. Software/Hardware: High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint preferred
