Position Summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine (ED) is seeking to hire a Clinical Research Supervisor with exceptional verbal and written communication skills to join a diverse team of clinical investigators and research staff.

Primary duties include working with principal investigators, clinical providers, staff and students to develop internal operational plans, materials and procedures to meet the needs of the Institutional Review Board. This may include training and supervising staff, preparing resources, enrolling subjects, entering data and ensuring quality control standards.

This position will maintain relationships with external sponsors for research studies, including facilitating and representing the Department of Emergency Medicine to external Sponsors during routine site evaluations, initiation, and close out monitoring visits.

This position will also provide access to research resources and assist faculty and resident physician in the evaluation of project needs that impact the workflow of the UNM HSC Department of Emergency Medicine Research Office.

Conditions of Employment
  • May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening.

  • Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by the department.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Must maintain certification status.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Certification/LicensureCurrent ACRP Certification as Clinical Research Coordinator or eligible for certification.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

· Certification/Licensure Current ACRP or SOCRA Certification as Clinical Research Coordinator or eligible for certification.

· Knowledge of the principles, methods, and common operating procedures utilized in human subjects research studies in a medical and/or clinical setting.

· Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare evaluative summary reports and correspondence.

· Advanced knowledge of medical research coordination, administration, and fiscal control principles and procedures.

· Experience preparing documents and managing IRB submissions

· Experience supporting ongoing human subjects research studies

· Experience maintaining research records for compliance with federal regulatory requirements

· Experience supervising research staff
