Position Summary

University Services has an opening for a leader who is adept at managing a fast-paced business for the procurement and distribution of chemicals, gases, and supplies for a wide range of laboratory needs. Our Chemical and Research Laboratory Supplier (CRLS) department provides critical operational support to the research efforts of university lab facilities.

We are looking for an individual with experience managing operations to include, sales and inventory management, customer service, ordering, invoicing/billing, monthly budgets, and accounts payable. Knowledge with receiving and handling hazardous chemicals and gases, storage requirements, and safety procedures are essential skills to fulfill job duties. Excellent supervisory skills, as well as a proven ability to problem solve with technical, and customer service, issues are also crucial requirements.

Managing all daily operations, supervising staff, administering an integrated database, working with university vendors to obtain yearly pricing agreements/quotes, and ensuring safety compliance with university, state, and federal regulations and reporting, are all abilities necessary to perform important job responsibilities. Finally, the successful candidate will be part of the University Services business team committed to providing excellent customer service and support to university departments.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

· Supervisory experience to include solid leadership and motivational skills

· Inventory management

· Strong computer skills

· Human resources activities at the management level

· Highly professional and conscientious work demeanor

· Experience with state and federal chemical regulations
