Position Summary

UNM Facilities Management (FM) is seeking a Project & Construction Manager who will lead assigned portions of University major capital improvement projects under the guidance of the University Facilities
Engineer. The ideal candidate will work exceptionally under limited supervision managing assigned capital projects and capital program tasks exclusively to FM-Utilities division to ensure that the project and program goals are met within the prescribed time frames and funding targets. FM-Utilities executes approximately $2M of capital improvement projects annually exclusively of new plant construction and regular turbine engine replacements.

Facilities Management is responsible for the care and upkeep of the physical campus environment. Additionally, the department maintains the University’s district energy system providing electricity, steam,
chilled water and domestic water through its own distribution systems.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience in the construction and/or utilities industry.
  • Prior experience working for a large entity, public or private sector.
  • Degree and/or certificate in construction, project management or any closely related field.
