Position Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine is one of the largest departments within the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, representing an annual budget of $57.5m. The Department is comprised of 13 clinical Divisions, three research focused divisions, 173 Faculty and 93 staff. Additionally, the Department supports 48 VA faculty and 17 working retirees. The Department is currently looking for a Supv, Fiscal Services to oversee the day-to-day operational demands relating to the fiscal department such as the design, implementation and evaluation of internal control processes, assessing the accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions, managing workload distributions, fielding questions requiring fiscal guidance, and managing the monthly reconciliations necessary for financial reporting analysis. The Supv, Fiscal Services will also be responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise for the existing and future fiscal staff, which includes professional development and goal setting, performance evaluation, training, and problem resolution.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business with accounting or finance emphasis, at least 5 years of experience in supervising accounting staff at multiple levels. Direct work related experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating control processes; direct work related experience overseeing monthly transactions relating to financial reporting.
