Summary of Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to provide coordination to the IT functions of Volunteers of America, Inc. ("VOA") and Volunteers of America National Services ("VOANS") including hardware and software acquisition and implementation, in order to establish efficient and user-friendly systems. The successful candidate must understand the impact of technology on operational and organizational issues and is expected to foster a technological framework that operates to support both the initiative and the staff responsible for doing the work. This position will also serve as a resource and point of contact for Volunteers of America 31 geographic affiliates across the country on technology, software and data issues. All activities must support the strategic goals and objectives of VOA and VOANS and produce results that accomplish the goals of the organizations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with computer software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. In addition, the candidate must have strong communication and client-service skills to able to convey information about technology effectively to program staff both at VOA/VOAN, but also at local VOA affiliates. The candidate must be able to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks and have a demonstrated ability to select and successfully implement new software and hardware.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, or other related field. Experience in project management or supervision, especially projects that required changes to programs, roll-out of new procedures, policy, software, or similar organizational changes is preferred. Previous experience managing technology and staff is preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under VOA/VOAN's policies. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Sets high standards of performance; pursues aggressive goals and works hard/smart to achieve them; strives for results and success; conveys a sense of urgency and brings issues to closure; persists despite obstacles and opposition. Able to meets/exceeds the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; identifies, understands, monitors and measures the needs of both internal and external customers; talks and acts with customers in mind; recognizes working colleagues as customers. Demonstrates a high level of conscientiousness; holds oneself personally responsible for one's own work; does fair share of work. Ability to: research, verify, analyze, evaluate, and communicate information and incorporate results as required, use statistical information and present data clearly and concisely, prepare written reports and analysis, understand financial documents, budgets, and reports, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
