Job Description

The YMCA of Greater Williamson County is seeking a District Executive Director of Y Afterschool to oversee a large portion of our current school based Y afterschool programs along with the Afterschool departments’ summer camps and training.

Our organization is home to the largest school age child care provider in Williamson County as well as health and fitness programs that improve the quality of life in over 45,000 members ranging from preschool through senior citizens. The Association currently encompasses four facility branches, a residence camp, sports complex, centralized child care department, a metropolitan services office and over 125 program sites committed to meeting the needs of our diverse population. The YMCA of Greater Williamson County responds to community needs with effective community-based programs that enrich the quality of spirt, mind and body for all people throughout Williamson & Burnet Counties.

The ideal candidate will directly ensure that the school districts that fall under their responsibility are being provided with a quality program that is meeting their student’s needs.  The candidate will work in cooperation with the Vice President of Youth Development to ensure that quality is being delivered and the districts are being properly communicated with to ensure needs are being met.

Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Oversee the day to day supervision and professional development of 5-6 exempt staff and 50+ hourly staff.
  • Oversee the coordination of all communication to all relevant school districts ensuring that district personnel are aware of Y programming and ensure that what the districts deem “quality” is being delivered.
  • Provide direct hands on leadership of Y Afterschool training for both school year staff and summer camp staff.
  • Work in a positive team oriented way to ensure that the YMCA mission is being delivered to the community through all YMCA programs, including sports and fitness.
  • Assist with all Association special events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Three or more years of Child Care management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency with multiple child care locations.
  • Proven ability to direct and lead professional staff teams in multiple locations.

Anticipates challenges that can sidetrack or derail growth and personal learning. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

Salary:  $67,239-$75,000 DOE

The YMCA of Greater Williamson County offers a comprehensive benefits package including pay commensurate with skills and experience; Medical/Dental/Vision options, LTD/Life Insurance, Paid-time off for Vacation, Sick and Holiday, Tuition Assistance, Family Membership to YMCAs in Williamson County, program discounts, including Child Care and 12% company paid Retirement after two years of full-time service.
