What does this role entail?

  • Participate in agency decision-making, program planning, policy development and administration oversight
  • Supervise and coordinate the major functions and day-to-day operations of TAY Services Direct Supports
  • Coordinate and manage individual supervision, group supervision, staff meetings, and program development meetings as scheduled
  • Ensure a clean, well-maintained and safe facility
  • Ensure programmatic, fiscal, and administrative compliance with several contracts and funding sources
  • Responsible for monitoring monthly budgets, monthly reporting, database compliance, document tracking, recruitment of and interaction with program participants
  • Create, review, update, and maintain all program forms, program policies and procedures manual on a regular basis
  • Recruit, train, manage, supervise, and motivate program teams
  • Handle on-site participant crisis situations, over the phone crisis calls, program emergencies and referrals. Perform participant and staff mediation as needed
  • Manage administrative functions such as financial tracking, program reporting and data entry into program approved systems
  • Develop and maintain community referrals and outreach
  • Coordinate and manage volunteer and donor relations
  • Coordinate orientation, intake and discharge procedures for program participants
  • Must be accessible to facility, clients and staff at all times and carry an agency cell phone while on and off duty
  • Development and implement risk management and emergency/disaster planning
  • Audit and maintain program files, documentation and database systems to ensure contract compliance
  • Carry out disciplinary actions for program participants (i.e. contracts, discharges, etc.)
  • Oversee the coordination of facilities, vehicle, and furnishings maintenance
  • Ensure delivery of consistent levels of service, including coordination with all program staff
  • Establish and maintain relationships with agencies, organizations, civic and community groups
  • Track goals, compile data and complete reports for funding sources as directed by the Department Head
  • Transport participants in YMCA vehicle to and from activities and appointments as needed
  • Practice non-aggressive defensive driving techniques
  • Operate YMCA vehicles in safe manner

What do I need to bring do the table?

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, psychology, or a related field is required, Master’s degree highly preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Experience working with young adults (ages 14-25) required
  • Extensive case management experience focused on at-risk, young adults (ages 16-24) required
  • Experience with supervision, staff training, and group process preferred
  • Ability to work in a very diverse setting with people of all backgrounds, culture and orientation
  • Must be detailed oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff and community partners
  • Requires strong computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • Must be self-aware, flexible, adaptable and teachable
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Ability to work within various deadlines and respond to multiple demands
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel throughout San Diego County
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • Good driving record
  • Current CDL H6 print-out (must be dated within 30 days of application.)
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing
  • Pass vehicle proficiency exam
  • Criminal record clearance by being fingerprinted prior to reporting to work and signing a statement regarding criminal convictions
  • A physical exam and negative TB test results
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
  • Ability to adequately observe participants activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures
  • Must possess the ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills
  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety and Health Institute
